Barngeong Reserve will get brand new clubroom facilities under a Coalition State Government, Kilsyth MP David Hodgett announced today.
The reserve, which is home to several local sporting clubs, including Croydon North Junior Cricket Club, Croydon Junior Football Club and the Croydon Rams Baseball Club, will undergo a major upgrade as a result of the $250,000 commitment.
“This is fantastic news for the Croydon community,” David Hodgett said. “The upgrade will enable a redesign, extension and refurbishment to the clubrooms which will provide much needed additional space for the several sporting clubs who use the Reserve.
“The Baillieu Coalition is committed to supporting local sport, especially our junior clubs. Croydon Junior Football Club, the Croydon Rams Baseball Club and Croydon North Cricket Club will all benefit from the tremendous new clubrooms,” Mr Hodgett said.
This announcement comes on top of the completion of the new lights at the reserve, allowing the tenant clubs to train at night with all areas of the main oval illuminated.
“This is another step towards securing the long term future of Barngeong Reserve,” Mr Hodgett said. “I’m so pleased the Coalition is investing in grassroots sport. This much needed upgrade of the clubrooms demonstrates the Baillieu Coalition is committed to supporting the Croydon sporting community.”
“This is really exciting news for the Croydon community, and the local clubs and residents who use Barngeong Reserve,” Mr Hodgett said.
