The Liberals Nationals Coalition will fund $500,000 to build a new home for the Lilydale Yarra Valley Netball Association, Kilsyth MP David Hodgett announced today.
The facility will be built at Pinks Reserve in Kilsyth and will provide a state of the art new complex for the thousands of young netballers in the association.
“This is huge news for the Lilydale Yarra Valley Netball Association and the people of Kilsyth,” Mr Hodgett said.
“This magnificent new netball facility is another exciting edition to the Pinks Reserve sporting precinct.”
The new facility will include 12 outdoor courts, with additional access to the two new indoor courts and a pavilion. Car parking and the construction of better entry and exit points to the reserve, alleviating local traffic concerns are also being planned.
“This commitment to the $2.5 million Regional Netball Facility, in addition to the new basketball courts already underway and the announced funding for Croydon and Districts Table Tennis, is evidence of my commitment to developing Pinks Reserve into a local sporting centrepiece to support our thriving sporting community,” Mr Hodgett said.
The $500,000 will form the Baillieu State Government’s contribution to fund this tremendous project.
Mr Hodgett said the project would provide the new base for the netball association. “The Lilydale Yarra Valley Netball Association has had major issues over a number of years with its current home, and this funding will deliver them a state of the art new home.”
“The two new indoor and 12 outdoor courts is terrific news for the thousands of local netballers,” Mr Hodgett said, “and I am delighted to have secured this funding to support people playing netball in the area.”
